Summer Fun on a budget – Multiply North Yorkshire
Multiply North Yorkshire hosted the launch of our Summer Fun on a Budget programme in Northallerton and were Joined by Rishi Sunak, Prime Minister and MP for Richmond.
Summer Fun on a Budget is designed to support families with the cost of living over the summer holidays without feeling that they cannot enjoy the holidays due to finances. The Multiply team researched family friendly activities in the local area and put together a passport of free and low-cost activities for both sunny and rainy days.
Activities provided on the day included making a healthy packed lunch at a low cost, safety in the sun (Sunburn and sun cream maths challenges), beat the keeper, fastest goal and the launch of the Multiply Fantasy Football league.
Learners were also invited to make low cost smoothies using weights and measures to ensure their families had a healthy intake of fruit whilst out and about. We were joined by the Prime Minister who made a smoothie with the learners and chatted all things maths.
North Yorkshire Multiply have reached families from all across the county with this activity and it is proving to be one of our most popular outreach activities so far.
