The Adult Numeracy Programme for York and North Yorkshire
Turn cold when faced with maths-related tasks in your everyday life? Do you struggle with dyscalculia, or have you just accepted that numbers aren’t your strong suit? Life is full of equations and we’re here to help you tackle them.About Multiply
A Free, Local, and Modern Approach to Adult Numeracy
Multiply is the new, free adult numeracy project for residents of York and North Yorkshire. If you’re over 19 years of age and you don’t have a maths GCSE at grade C (or equivalent), then this is for you.
Our Multiply courses will help you to manage your money better, improve your confidence, and open up better employment opportunities.
The best part of the way we work is that there’s no traditional textbook learning with us. This is learning that suits you. We hide your learning in enjoyable and creative activities that help you to make sense of common maths challenges that come up in everyday life. You’ll develop your adult numeracy skills without any of the boring stuff.
Our participants learn without even knowing it
We don’t act like a school, and we’re not associated with one. Multiply is a government-funded programme that’s local to you and delivered by our partner organisations. It’s been created to support you to improve your everyday maths skills in a fun and engaging way.
With a zero-pressure approach, and no commitment to complete a qualification, start your learning journey with Multiply now.
WHO SAID NUMBERS ARE BORING?
Our short and snappy courses cover a wide range of subjects and tackle numbers in a really fun way. We have food courses (try A Taste of Italy or Air Fryer Food), finance courses, a Getting Ready for Christmas course, and courses based around online safety. There’s something for everyone, so take a look at what’s available now.

Improving Day-to-Day Lives & Careers
Our Multiply project isn’t just about maths; it’s about improving your everyday life. From making your money go further, to supporting your children with their homework, we’ll support you to take on your everyday challenges. We can look at ways to tackle soaring food costs, look at how to figure out your travel time to work, and plan for your monthly bills. In your work life, low confidence in maths can hold you back in several ways. It might prevent you from applying for a role that excites you, and it can also stop you from getting a job that’s paid more. Don’t be held back any more - develop your adult numeracy skills with us now to improve your work life going forwards.
